IceCold raises £4800 for Pageant
The IceCold teams, Alex Thomas, Chris Fisher, Joanne Hill and Russell Grinham, took part in the 2007 Plymouth-Banjul Challenge. They drove a Suzuki Samurai and a Ford Transit ambulance to The Gambia. In all they raised around £9000 in sponsorship. This was split between Pageant and Health the Gambia. The ambulance was donated to a clinic in Fagikunda, where it will serve a catchment area of 67,000 people (see photo). The Suzuki jeep was auctioned for about £1300, which went to local Gambian charities. Pageant has just received the final £2677.41, bringing the total to £4803.19. All of this is being used for Pageant's projects at Bakalarr School. Read more about IceCold's adventures on this page.
